Recovery Support & Relapse Prevention focuses on the long game: helping clients build and sustain recovery beyond stopping substance use. Recovery is a process of building a meaningful life, and front-line staff play a powerful role in supporting the skills, connections, and resilience that make recovery last. This course covers what recovery support is, recovery capital and the social determinants of recovery, relapse prevention and warning signs, coping and life skills, mutual-aid and peer support, recovery-oriented language and hope, and supporting clients through return to use. It centers the client's own goals and strengths. The throughline: recovery is built, not just begun. By supporting skills, connection, and hope — and responding to setbacks with care — you help clients create a recovery worth keeping.
