Grief, Loss & End-of-Life Support prepares caregivers for one of the most meaningful and difficult parts of the work: being present for clients who are declining or dying, and for the families and the caregivers themselves who grieve. This care asks for compassion, presence, and skill more than it asks for tasks. This course covers understanding grief and loss, the dying process and comfort care basics, communicating with dying clients and grieving families, honoring dignity and cultural and spiritual wishes, the caregiver's own grief, and the boundaries and reporting that keep care safe. It complements (not replaces) the hospice and clinical team's role. The throughline is presence: at the end of life, what people most need is to be seen, comforted, and treated with dignity — and you can offer that in every interaction.
