Personal Safety & Body Mechanics protects the two people every transfer puts at risk: the client and you. Caregiving is physically demanding, and lifting injuries end careers while falls seriously injure clients. Working in clients' homes adds hazards you don't control. This course gives you the technique and judgment to stay safe. It covers body mechanics, assessing how much help a client needs, safe transfer and mobility techniques and gait belts, fall prevention, home and personal safety, and what to do when a client falls. The constant rule: do only what you're trained to do, and get help or equipment when the task calls for it. The throughline is safety with dignity — supporting clients' mobility and independence while keeping everyone free from harm.
