72-Hour Maltreatment Reporting
Minnesota gives you 72 hours. From an employee’s first direct contact with a
person they serve, state law requires maltreatment reporting orientation — and
requires it again every year after that.
This course covers what the statute actually asks for, which is more than most
training delivers. Vulnerable adults under the Vulnerable Adults Act, including
what “immediately” legally means and how internal reporting works alongside a
report to MAARC. Children under Chapter 260E — all eight categories, and the
routing rule that sends a report to the licensing agency when maltreatment
happens inside a licensed program. The abuse prevention plans your licence
requires for every person you serve, including the part most training omits:
the risk a person may pose to others, and self-abuse.
Four short lessons, about fifty minutes, finishable on a phone in one sitting —
because a course nobody can complete inside the deadline is not compliance.
