Reflects current Minnesota law verified July 2026 at revisor.mn.gov:
Minn. Stat. 245I.05, subd. 3(c) — 30 hours of training before direct contact for
mental health rehabilitation workers, mental health behavioral aides, and behavioral
health practitioners, on: (1) mental illnesses; (2) client recovery and resiliency;
(3) mental health de-escalation techniques; (4) co-occurring mental illness and
substance use disorders; (5) psychotropic medications and side effects, including
tardive dyskinesia. Minn. Stat. 245I.05 subd. 5 — extra medication training (incl.
tardive dyskinesia) before administering meds under delegated authority. Minn. Stat.
245I.04 — provider qualifications, scope, and treatment supervision (MHRW = subd. 14).
Also: 245I.05 subd. 4(b) — 30 hours of ongoing training every two years.
