HIV-01 (245A.19, Course 20) covers opioid overdose prevention CONCEPTUALLY as one of
six DHS-mandated HIV topics. It does NOT satisfy 245A.242.
OAT-01 (245A.242, this course) is hands-on training in the specific mode the program
stocks, before direct contact. It does NOT satisfy the annual HIV requirement.
Both courses are required. Both course descriptions carry a cross-reference note.

AGENCY INSERT (slide 14 + Participant Guide page) — REQUIRED BEFORE ASSIGNMENT
Because the statute ties training to the program’s specific mode, each tenant must
complete: mode and product stocked; every storage location and who carries it; the
prescriber name, credential, and standing order date; and the trainer responsible for
the hands-on return demonstration. Do not assign this course to a tenant until the
insert is filled in.
