Who is this program for?
New and current Designated Coordinators and Designated Managers, license holders who wear both hats, and staff being developed into either role. If your name is (or will be) on the DC/DM line of a 245D license, this program was built for you.
Is this a state certification? Does it qualify me as a DC or DM?
No — and be wary of any training that implies otherwise. There is no state-issued DC/DM certification in Minnesota. The DC and DM roles are filled by meeting the education and experience qualifications in Minn. Stat. §245D.081, which no course can waive or substitute for. The CareCertify DC/DM Certification is a private professional credential from CareCertify LLC documenting that you completed the program and demonstrated competency in 245D program standards through the capstone exam. It is not issued, approved, or endorsed by DHS or any government agency — what it does is prove, verifiably, that you know how to do the job the statute assigns you.
Does this satisfy Minnesota's DC/DM training requirements?
The program is built module-by-module on the current requirements of Minnesota Statutes chapter 245D and related rules, and goes well beyond minimum orientation content. As with any training, your license holder remains responsible for documenting how training meets §245D.09 requirements for each role — our guides include the documentation evidence lists licensors ask for.
How long does it take?
Plan on 12–18 hours across the 12 modules plus the capstone. It's fully self-paced — most learners complete it in two to four weeks alongside a full-time role, and you can start the moment you enroll.
What is the capstone, exactly?
A simulated DHS licensing review. You receive the complete (fictional) agency file of Northwoods Supports LLC and audit it for planted violations spanning the entire program — identifying each finding, citing the statute, and stating the fix. Pass it and you're certified.
